Recommended Sequence of Courses

Biology BA and BS

For both the BA and the BS degrees, the following sequence of required Biology course work is strongly recommended (click here for a list of possible scenarios as a pdf file):

Freshman Year:

• Fall: BIOL 107 - Introductory Biology I
• Fall: BIOL 145 - Biology Freshman Seminar
• Spring: BIOL 108 - Introductory Biology II

Biology majors are encouraged to take CHEM 130 during the freshman year.

Sophomore Year:

• Fall: BIOL 200 - Cell Biology
• Spring: BIOL 300 - Genetics

Junior Year:

• Fall: BIOL 301- Ecology
• Spring BIOL 315 - Physiology or BIOL 405 -Plant Physiology

Senior Year:

• Final Semester: BIOL 545 - Senior Biology Seminar
